Maildot

Terms of use

Effective October 20, 2026

These terms apply when you use the Maildot app for macOS (“the app”) and this website. By using the app, you agree to them.

What the app does

The app shows the unread count of your Gmail Inbox on its Dock icon and opens Gmail when you click it. Our privacy policy explains what data the app uses and how.

Your Google account

You connect the app to your own Google account and can disconnect it at any time. Your use of Gmail continues to be governed by Google's terms. Maildot is not made, endorsed or sponsored by Google. Gmail is a trademark of Google LLC.

License

If you get the app from the Mac App Store or TestFlight, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your use of it, together with these terms. TestFlight builds are pre-release software and can change or stop working.

Acceptable use

Do not use the app to access an account that you are not allowed to use, and do not try to interfere with the app or with Google's services.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is.” The unread count can be late or wrong, for example when your Mac is offline or Google's service is unavailable. Do not rely on the app for urgent messages.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses from your use of the app or this website.

Changes

We can update these terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
